TELEPHONE ROBOT - YONEZAWA - JAPAN

A red painted tinplate robot with green plastic telephone handsets as arms. In keeping with the novelty theme the robot has a telephone dial in the center of the chest with a childish decal. Walking action with sparks behind the red plastic mouthpiece.

This is based on the Yonezawa Winky Robot. It also has the lenticular raster moving eyes. Item No 800. 4347. This robot appeared as a new item in the Yonezawa catalog for 1968.

This is the only version, though home-made variations with tin handsets are out there.
