SWIVEL-O-MATIC ASTRONAUT, ROBOT VERSION - HORIKAWA - JAPAN

Gold tin battery operated robot with fly eyes. Firing guns on a chest plate that hinges at the bottom. This hinged door that drops forward with a gun firing action and flashing lights is the innovative feature of a Swivel-O-Matic robot.

This version of the astronaut is, oddly, a robot. Horikawa frequently ignored the distinction. This is an Attacking Martian head with a slight alteration to the box art to reflect the fact. It's probable that this slightly later than the astronaut version. There are two versions, one with metal arms and legs, the other with plastic limbs.

One version of the Swivel-O-Matic features in the 1967 Spiegel Catalog. In several catalogs it is pictured with the name "Mr. Mars".
