Tin wind up robot with small spark window. Blue target logo on chest. A slightly more complex version of Robby the Roving Robot: the feet have pis with small disks at the end. SNK maker. (Shin Nichi Kogyo company) ACE importer. The box is a one piece construction: it does not have a top and base, but is manufactured in one folded piece. The lid-and-base box was used for the Robot 5 version. SHIN NICHI KOGYO

Same pressing as Robby the Roving Robot and Flashy Jim. Also used for the Robot 5 by Kanto, the TV Robot by Sankei, and the Mighty Robot. 20cm


The robot appears in Aldens Christmas Catalog from 1956 and appears in newspaper ads in October 1956.

Blue dome on head, not black.
Dome a complete hemisphere, not partial
Tabs on the ears not visible
Head halves meet together neatly, no gaps
Sharply detailed nose with a slit underneath
