SPACE ATTACKER - HORIKAWA - JAPAN

ADMINDATA

Name on box: Space Attacker
Manufacturer: Horikawa, Japan
Height: 8.5"
Catalog number: #5046 (Horikawa Toy '79 catalog)
Timeline date: 1979-1984*
Power source: 2 "C" cell batteries
Actions: Walks forward as lighted guns push straight out of the chest opening the doors, making a "rat-tat-tat" sound. Guns retract as doors close and robot continues to walk forward.
Additional info.: *Space Attacker has been sighted in 1979 in a Horikawa Toy '79 catalog and as late as 1984 in a Horikawa Toys Catalogue. MADE IN JAPAN is embossed on the plastic battery cover. Robot is all plastic except for the soles of its feet which are tin.
Misc. comments: The above photo shows the robot with its chest doors missing. Although the box artwork depicts them as being chrome plated, they are, in fact, clear orange plastic. Space Attacker shares many common body parts with Horikawa's Sky Robot which accounts for the seemingly unnecessary "flip top" head and exposed front wheels.
