ROBOT 5 - GREY-BLACK VERSION - SANKEI - JAPAN

Tin wind up robot with pin feet. This is the more common version of what is a rare robot. Robot 5 is available in three colors:
1 Grey-Black
2 Pink (Grey-Black with a pink glaze)
3 Light blue.

The box for Robot 5 is basically a Sparkling Mike box (Robot 5 is a lithoed up Sparking Mike) with three key differences:

a) Sparkling Mike has a one piece box with lid - whereas the Robot 5 is a true two piece top and bottom box.

b) On the bottom left hand corner of the box cover on the Sparkling Mike is the importer trademark ACE. On the Robot 5 box this trademark is replaced by the Sankei trademark.

c) Robot 5 came in two basic variations - a black/grey version and a pink champagne one. On the small part of the box bottom grey cardboard was stamped the word Red or Black with an oval circle around it.

The box for the light blue version has not been documented.
