Tin and plastic battery operated robot with visible pistons engine in chest. The angular black wedge shaped plastic feet (as opposed to red feet) are a quick indication that this is by Horikawa.

A very popular robot that appears in a wide range of minor variations. The Piston Robot is in the FAO Schwarz catalog for 1977 but has been seen in newspaper ads dating from November 1976. English and Japanese box versions.

The robot has appeared recently in bright colors such as red, blue and yellow. These have been described as test pieces but their provenance remains uncle
