GEAR ROBOT WITH VISIBLE GEARS - HORIKAWA - JAPAN
Small 9 inch brown tinplate wind up robot with two gears in clear plastic chest. This boxy robot has a brightly lithographed tinplate chest panel with circuit board detailing. Two gears (originally one red and one green - later pink and yellow) rotate under a clear plastic chest panel. The square head has chromed tin eyes and mouth. A conical clear red plastic dome covers the spark mechanism. A switch or "stopper" is positioned on the back. This is mentioned at the bottom right of the box. The box depicts the red-green gear combination and may be one of earliest Horikawa robots. The pink-yellow version was released in 1964 using the original box.
