EXCAVATOR ROBOT - HORIKAWA - JAPAN

Blue plastic battery operated robot. The robot walks and the two chrome silver drills rotate.

Version 1 (top row) the earlier version, has a switch on the back that starts a cycle of walking followed by drilling. This usually has two red gears with a yellow gear below. The box art shows a robot with a slightly raised head.

Version 2 (bottom row) New Excavator Robot (1979) has a four position swich on the front below the chest that offers Off..Walking..Drlling...Walking and Drilling. This usually has two yellow gears on top with a red gear below. Gear colors can vary. The black version with three yellow gears is probably a factory sample test.
