FRIENDSHIP NO 7 SAUCER - MASUDAYA - JAPAN

This is an unusual space toy, a cross between a flying saucer and a spaceship. The light blue and red tin toy is hemispherical in design with a cockpit window fitted in to one side. A vinyl astronaut pilot sits inside. A wire is fixed to the top center with an orbiting cadet astronaut on the end. Non-fall action with flashing light and rotating astronaut. Masudaya were happy to recycle parts from their other non-fall spaceships to create this more childish saucer. Versions with different colors and litho on the pilots are known. An X-61 Space Survey variation is shown in the 1963 Masudaya catalog.
