SPACE WATER PISTOL - IDEAL JGS - GERMANY

A bulbous clear plastic space water pistol with rotating plastic aliens
inside. This company is not connected with the US Ideal toy company but is J.G. Schrödel of Nuremberg. The box has impressive space graphics but has no name. Sometimes called the Astronaut Rocket Ray Gun.

There are two versions of this gun: the large 9" 26cm version with three rotating aliens and a small 6 1/2" 16cm version with one alien. Made in (at least) light green, red, purple and blue.

First seen in the MCM 1956 Oversea's Post German New Year's English Ed. Consumer Goods Catalog.

The gun was reissued in the 1990s in a distinctive sparkle plastic version.

There is a version of the larger gun with URANIA molded on the top fin. Details?
