POWDER SPACE GUN - MAKER?

An unidentified red plastic space gun. Rounded futuristic design with rings on the barrel and a similar configuration on the telescopic sight. The sight is set into an arched fin at the back of the gun. Flared barrel tip. Powder shooting action. Probably 1950s USA. Details? Packaging? 6 1/2" by 5 1/4".
