Old Kogure Plastic Model From The Big Kitahara Book

I was wondering about model kits that became toys after the kit was made.

Here are some interesting findings.

First is the Robin VI robot box.

on the side of the box were other robots.

They all look familiar.

Our Japanese friend just posted a new video. I would love to build one of these robot garages for a large robot like MR-45. I had one for the soul of chogokin Mazinger with an elevator.

And it appears that you can buy a resin Kogure Cyborg for 10,000 yen somewhere. Anybody have additional info about this?

Here is another great plamodel website showing many robots built and being built along with other vehicles character etc.

http://www.geocities.jp/sikokuibushi/

And I found this, drool drool drool (Marusan Friday) Holy Grail of b-9 collectors. There is also a zip file movie of this walking, the accordian arms move in and out.

anybody care to trade a M1 Garand for this?

Just a heads up guys - when I clicked on the link that SH Mike posted above my McAfee site adviser red flagged it as potentially dangerous or malicious. Just so you know.

Hello!

Marusan Friday?!?!?!

To my knowledge this is the first time this robot has been seen built up, it is the rarest robot model and one of the rarest robots period. I stole this pic of the box art from Robothunters website. Here is a side view of the robot.

Any of you robofreaks ever seen this before? You guys really can't be this jaded.

Tom- jaded?????...I'm still speechless seeing this (and thus fingerless when it comes to typing a reply!!) A great and yes rare find.

I wonder what the actual production runs were like for these model kits.

Thx to SH Mike for the translation page - this is really a new frontier in our hobby....these model kits are really wonderful to look at. Keep the info and pics coming!!!

This is the first time I've seen anything but a box pick for this robot! Very Cool! I really like that paint job. Man, those claws sure look tiny though..
