Kia-ora cordial rocket toy and target game advertisement

Came across an auction for this item by chance and cost me all of $5 including postage. Apparently the seller found it folded up at the bottom of a box of toys

I now have to look for the following items:

Rocket

Launcher

Two spaceman

Moon map

Plus, of course, any associated advertising.

The picture of the rocket looks familiar so I was wondering if anyone had seen anything similar from say the UK or the US.

Going by the address it looks like an Australian or NZ only offer.

Very similar to toys I played with in the 60s but sorry not any real info on where you might find the items mentioned.

A nice thing to have found anyway and will lead into much fun detective work.

The thing I've found with Aussie and NZ toys from the 50s and 60s is they tend to fall into one of four categories

1 - Made locally using molds leased from overseas

2 - Imported from the Pound Sterling block i.e. Countries in the British Empire

3 - Made locally using locally made molds

4 - Imports from outside the Pound Sterling block.

My feeling is this one given it was free giveaway was probably something imported from somewhere like Hong Kong.

With regards to the rocket I keep thinking it was a blow pipe type toy.

Basically you'd blow into the tube at the base of the rocket and it would launch the command module.

Alternatively, the pipe at the base plugged into a plastic pump and like a bottle rocket you'd press a plunger and launch the rocket and/or the command module.

I believe I've found the rocket, launcher etc mentioned in the advert.

Basically it was originally released in the US for Cheerios cereals and V8 juice. So either it was imported from the US or a local manufacturer leased the molds etc.

Here's a link to a video of the original Cheerios advert
