Mr. Jan
Oh wait I miss read the request. Here is some picts of the not so close reproduction of Robert the Robot. I realy wanted one but even then they were more that what I wanted to pay for one. By the time I was done I should have just bought one. I took almost 40 hrs to figure out and make it. I renamed mine Roger so he would be different. I made three copies.Mine, Joe K has one the other went to a gentle man called Joe G. in Qweens NY. At the time I only had some small picures of Robert so I had to guess about some of the details. I made it out of heavy foiled paper. Silver for the body and Gold and red for details. Most was just basic box construction. Using the same type of fasteners to hold it together. The arms and leg construction illuded me until I was able to contact the late Ernie Mannix of the much missed Robot World and Price Guide mini mag. He was kind enough to send me a copy of the construction plans from his kit. A lot of back and forth and this way and that folding to make the arms and legs. Mine is about 4ft. tall. I made a custom box with referse imbossing for the cover. Well I'm glad you regained your child hood toy. Have Fun ! Mr. Jan
