Andyman
I like the juxtaposition of advanced spaceships and a painted traffic sign that has to be manually flipped to avoid accidents. Not to mention the minimally clad traffic officer who voids her own efforts.

Golddalek
On 10/13/2017 at 9:19 AM, Andyman said: Obviously the inspiration for the Star Wars "probe droid", eh? Lucas took concepts from a ton of people.....However, noticing the 7 segment display -- late 70's, mid '80s - - this cover may been influenced from his movies. plus 'personal robots' is an 1980's term..I was reading 'Robotics Age' magazines and they coined that term.....Had like a 6 year run. 6Stelab9
You're right Golddalek, the book is dated 1984 so the illustrator was inspired by ESB.

Golddalek
I could look at these covers for hours....'Conan's Pizza, a restaurant here in Tx, decks their walls with Frazzetta artwork and pulp novel covers.
Ultrarobotman
I could probably gaze at those covers for hours too, as well as the older artwork on robot and space toy box covers and sci-to movie posters. Very cool stuff.

Sparkrobot
I don't think we've featured this character before Brick Bradford. There was also a long running cliff hanger/ Flash Gordon type serial from the 40s50s ? I used to watch in our Saturday morning cinema when I was a kid.
