robothut
Some hardware arrived so I could finish up the robots right hand "the bow" hand. It was missing a few fingers and the thumb. I am sure he will play better now that he has all his digits.

Lunik
Very interesting. Thanks for posting this unusual Meccano piece. Can you let us know the exact hight? Looks like some 3 feet.
Dirk
Hi Klaus (Lunik)! When this topic popped up, I knew at once that this is a topic for THE construction kit specialist! I guess you can date every single piece on this tin man! Do you think it is based on a regular Mecchano blueprint?
roboz
Wonderful Job John Somewhere I have pics of what a wreck this was when received Amazing you bought it back to this condition Been trying to uncover some history on this & was surprised to find this was owned by E who won it 5-6 years ago at an auction but never took possession & subsequently sold it through smithouse although I can't find that particular auction I purchased it from Claus who shipped it from Germany along with a Henk Non-xray machine & a full size Henk Robot that was used in a commercial as part of a package The trip from Germany to the USA wasn't too kind to the robot & I'm sure going from Florida to Washington State wasn't great for the robot either He's been well travelled to say the least Here is the only auction I was able to find for the violin robot https://www.the-saleroom.com/en-gb/auction-catalogues/auction-team-breker/catalogue-id-breker10005/lot-83c915ce-f328-4b2f-8ef7-a53600dc7df4 Waiting for to see if Claus has additional info if he does I'll add it to the post
robothut
Yes the auction picture was the only source I had for what things should look like when put back together.
Dirk
Guess we have too many "KLAUSES" here in Germany. The one Klaus from Hannover is here LUNIK. The other one Claus from Krefeld was better known as HOTBOTZ. And we have the Klaus who is called BLECHROBOTER. Not to name one of the earliest german robot collectors - a Klaus from Meerbusch - who would be well known by older collectors... Yes its a KLAUSMANIA over here...
