space.trucks
Sorry in advance if this has been an oft-covered subject? Got the transparent dude in a few weeks ago, felt like getting them all out & noticed that he and the red guy have a differently shaped medallion (?) then the gray figure. Have had the gray one for a while, red guy since the spring, first chance to compare them all side by side and am now wondering if any are Premier made figures at all. Nice blob of 1950s air preserved in the middle of the clear one too, which along with the red one I'd presumed were copies until noticing the differently shaped pendants. I compared it to the examples on the index pages and of those I could see clear enough have a more distinctly circular form like the red & clear guys though not with the raised points around the circumference. I was also thinking that the angular relation between his left hand and that satchel on his belt differs slightly between the two. Their belt buckles are different. Detailing of the armor seam at the upper thighs doesn't match. Silver figure appears to be a smidgen shorter than the other two as well. Shaping of the helmet plume (?) seems to differ as well as the number of detail rings around their necks. I also believe the sculpting of the faces differ slightly, most noticeable feature being the protruding eyes on the silver figure. The left foot on the clear figure appears to be more rounded than on the silver figure. Same with the red figure. Circular medallion with raised points on its circumference and raised central point. Rectangular form on belt. Oval medallion with smudgy details and dish-like center. Triangular form on belt. Circular medallion with raised points on its circumference and raised central point. Rectangular form on belt. Protruding eyeballs with sunken pupils on the silver guy. The shape of the hand on the holster also looks different. Same as above. The satchel on his left side looks more wedge-shaped on the red figure, more rectangular on the silver guy. Are ANY of them Premiers at all?? Martian Gil
Howdy space.trucks! It would appear that my clear figure would add more confusion, lol. Round pendant, no "riveting" evident - and it doesn't look like mine has been subject to much wear. The taper to the face from the helmet peak comes to more of a point, as well. And, his eyes do protrude a bit. other slight differences here and there... lol. so many variables! At one point, I had several dozen of these little hard plastic pieces - different colors, poses, etc... hard to track, that's for sure - but always cool and always fun. Lastly... whenever I see your name, I alway think of Deep Purple. So, here's a purple pic. Cheers!

I'm content knowing my three are copies of some sort. The "medallion" feature does appear to be circular without "raised points" on the bulk of the images of carded Premier's on the index page, like your clear figure. Is that an attribute to look for? Could help esplain why the ones I found were relatively painless scores. I see these guys up for grabs so often and with such comparatively low pricing it's been comfortable to take them for granted. Would enjoy learning more. PS great lighting idea! will have to give that a try.
Brian..
These figures have been copied so many times that the only way to resolve this is to locate figures attached to cards or in bags.
Brian..
Here's a good example of a guaranteed Premier figure, straight from the boxed Supersonic Aces set. The spaceships are "clinky" hard plastic, they ring when tapped together. The spaceman, however, is a solid plastic but definitely not clinky. Sorry for the strange description, but collectors of hard plastic know what I mean. The chest details shows the central medallion with its ring of dots. Your red spaceman fits the bill, as does the first of the clear spacemen.
Brian..
Here's a Argentinian version (Muneca possibly) which seems to have a vague circular medallion with an arrow on the chest and more defined helmet enclosure.
Brian..
This is the Moldex version from Australia. Clinky hard plastic and with a first class finish. There's a ring or donut medallian and no buckle detail.
space.trucks
Cheers Brian, so here is an attribute to look for. I also noted that "Blast Off" depicts a clear figure attributed to Premier. Will hold off on gluing those into anything. Happy New Year!
