TAKE APART SPACE TANK

Just picked up this unique space tank from the 60's. It's about 5" long made of softer plastic. Only seen one of these some years ago. Reminds me of the futuramic spaceship by Ideal. It's not marked by the manufacturer......does anyone know the manufacturer?    Thanks,   Clay

now you're going to salivate! This is actually part of the Playwell Design Engineer space set I've had for about 15 or 20 years.

Those hulls (bases) look very much like the pontoons of Tim-Mee plastic Piper style airplanes from the early '60s, from stores like S.S. Kresge.   I remember them from that time, so similar I'd suspect re-use of molds for the space stuff later on in the decade.

 

Flip those bases over and attach the airplane bits into those slots.
