As seen in this 1959 General Merchandise Company Christmas Gifts catalog:

A catalog photo version, most likely. Looks to be a photo of an actual toy.

Wonder where is it today?

I wonder if it's the one Pat Karris had? Wasn't there at least one more - the one with the box? Was it space commander, or something?

Found it  listed by an auction house a few years back on ebay.  We generally figure it likely was a salesman's sample of sorts.  Only a handful accounted for so far like 3 or 4 with only 2 boxes from what I'd heard about it.

That's it  - at first thought to be a prototype - a few examples have popped up - perhaps a salesman sample or a rare short run first version.

Hmmmm, $8,500 + 22% buyers premium, must be rare.
