Hmm, I am still not sure how this will turn out ( if it ever does!) 😂

I am now thinking of altering it somewhat. A different face, a square body and maybe a clockwork motor. Swinging arms (read loose), different ears maybe, a rivet effect and a mixture of shiny copper and paint. 🤷‍♂️. Probably be a week or so until I have worked it out and made my mind up. 🙄 It’s just a rough trial version robot, I have pretty much just guessed the rivet spacing (as you can tell!) to see how it might look.🍻

Thanks  6Stelab9!

Hi Joao. This one will probably end up not being so much like a foki  robot but who knows, even I don’t yet. 😂  I can go either way with it at the moment.

Once I have decided exactly how I want this one to look and have all the templates made I may make more than one. I will almost certainly make it as a foki robot in copper. I may make it to the correct size like the one I made before but in copper too. I really like copper and like working with it. 🍻

Just wow Paul! This project only gets better as you share your progress. I have no doubt that if you make multiples, there will be a line of members, myself included, who would love to add your work to our respective collections. The detailing is already impressive despite you still being in the “rough trial” phase. Though I have to disagree with K-9 regarding his comparison to Yamashita. An amazing artist sure and a fine compliment. But this project seems to be heading more in the direction of Shibahara’s work! That said, have you considered, rather than paint, simply using tin and other metals with different colors to compliment the copper? Whatever you go with, I think we can all agree that this project seems to be leading towards something incredible. Keep it up sir and keep us posted!

Hi Jeremy

I have had a few thoughts over the last few days re the finish

etc. Brass and copper, tin, brass and copper etc. I will be having another look at it tomorrow and hope to have a bit more of an idea as to what it could eventually look like by the end of the week. I tend to just get an idea as I am going along so it will probably change a few more times yet.

Cheers 🤖🍻

Ok, I have decided to go with the ‘normal’ foki body rather than the rectangular for now.  I will maybe come back to that another time. It’s soldered up (I like soldering!) but if this one turns out fairly good I may tab the next one up. This one was just for a trial to see how much metal to use and more importantly finding something to shape it up on. It seemed to come out pretty good for the first one. Now to make and fit a base to hold the legs. Should be fun! 😜. 🤖 🍻

Still trying out different things on the small foki. It could end up with arms like this if I cannot find some suitable (small enough) conduit type pipe for the arms. I may well have thought of another way of doing it soon enough. Just made the ears, in metal of course. I was thinking they were a bit small but the more I look at the more I think they will be ok. They are just hanging on by a bit of wire at the moment. I will do his face tomorrow if I get the time and then I will see if I can get any lit eyes inside it. Not much room inside there! Something to do isn’t it! 😂

🤖 🍻

Oh yes, the upper arms are indeed plumbing microbore elbows! Came across them whilst looking for something else and thought “hmm, they could be useful!” The lower arms were just flat sheet formed into a tube.
