Racerxc70
The seller said that he didn’t want to open the flint replacement port, he was afraid that it might break. I was afraid that it would be empty inside or worse, but I tossed those dice anyway and was rewarded. I replaced the flint and it sparked up a storm, 12 half turns on the winding mechanism is the max and it makes a popping or thumping sound when you squeeze the trigger. Fineas J. Whoopie
Yeah solid piece. One of the best classic designs. And the little rocket shaped sight is usually broken. In fact the examples in Ray Gun and Zap! are both broken. My favorite color too. Congrats!!

Tinplate6
Much like the Gang of Five in robots; along with the Pyrotomic Disintegrator, the Arliss Bubble gun, the Daisy Buck Rogers pistols, and the Hubly Atomic Disintegrator, this is one of the classic must-haves in space guns...and a blue one at that! Great get, congrats.
Racerxc70
Thanks, all those responses make it easier to accept the price that I paid
Rocket
Price is irrelevant really when you're talking about this gun, especially if it's for your collection. The intact ones rarely show up loose, all the nicely intact ones I have seen were MIB, so you scored a mint, loose example... bravo! It's one of my favorite ray guns, and in the very best color... whoo-hoo! Enjoy!

Oh my, but this is an incredible change of pace from what I was told yesterday about how sellers of a ray gun should shun profit and ambitious prices. Wouldn't you agree? A Double standard no doubt? I'm just trying to understand this incredibly blatant double standard, thus I ask. Is thus blue ray gun that much rarer and so far more valuable than the Pyrotomic that price is irrelevant? Yet, the price cap on the Pyro should limit a sale to $2000, because on the Pyro, price is very relevant? Or is it just who owns it and who's doing the asking that makes the price irrelevant or relevant? As an outsider, personae non grata to boot, I'm trying to understand how this double standard works. Very nice gun, by the way. Congratulations on the find, I'm jealous!
Racerxc70
Thank you for all your responses, I had no idea about the relevance of this gun in collecting realm. Thanks dromers
Racerxc70
BTW, Kelly and I are in Scarborough, UK and the castle ruins look suspiciously like the ones from the first Highlander movie, the one where Sean Connery plays the Spanish immortal
