Great stuff!!

Well, I'm frankly amazed at how different the guts of your green SC seem to be from my blue one. I'm sure there's an interesting manufacturer cross-pollination story there. To the extent that my experience is applicable to your situation, I have attached two pictures: The first is of the spring-steel "drumstick" before I broke the off the angled contact tip trying to bend it, and the second is my ugly but successful repair (it took me a few tries to get the power right on my spot welder -- you'll see I even blew a hole in the thin steel on one attempt). I simply cut a piece of nickel-plated tin, bent it to mimic the original tang, and then sistered it together with the remans of the original. While, as I said, the workings of your SC seem to be markedly different from mine, it looks like you could do the same thing. Or you could do the job more professionally and find a strip of spring steel (perhaps even out of a "donor" junker toy) and replace the entire tang. Looks like you could remove the original, slide the new (probably modified) tang into place and solder it securely on the fixed end. My two cents...

Interesting and needs some thought, if I am understanding the photos correctly, would it be possible to remove the apparently broken piece of springy steel and bolt a donor piece in place and try different angles so it engages with the rotating gear correctly , by the way do you have a photo of how the vertical radar rod is driven?
